Combating energy prices

good, f single use stuff.

they should crack down on bulk buying deals too. I bought some tea bags this morning and it cost me double per bag coz I didn't buy a massive pack of them that I couldn't possibly use before they go off as a single person.

They certainly shouldn't crack down on bulk buying for those of us that make use of it, it's a good thing all around. They don't force you to bulk buy. Less packaging and less transport costs is a good thing.
Do like we do and go halves with family members.

yeah you're meant to keep them in airtight containers, you just end up with bad cups of tea after a month or so. it's just an example though, replace it with anything. a single person shouldn't be paying double for something because they don't need a family's worth of it.

It's simply cheaper to produce larger packs. It's not a conspiracy against singletons.

Can you seal/flatpack them somehow? One of those vac sealed bags or something in small. I tend to buy the biggest packs of stuff and stock pile if on sale, to save money. Though i struggled with cheese as it goes off, so i just don't buy it now as i barely eat it but want just a little bit now and then.

Do you not have a freezer. Can't say I've know cheese to go off, usually goes funny if you keep touching it with dirty hands but doesn't go off.

Cheese goes off?

I know sometimes a bit.of mould can go on it but most people would just cut that bit off and use the rest of the cheese.

Likewise, I've never heard of teabags going off and I buy the 240 bag boxes and it lasts me 3-4 months.

Yeah i know, it's just cheese, but i had a small bit left and it went all white. If i had cut off each side there wouldn't have been much at all left. It could be months for me to eat it. I should go to the deli and buy it, but the stores i go don't have one. I still have chocolate from xmas, i'll keep that till someone asks to eat it and finds that all white :D

Oh, my freezer is tiny sadly. Might try and freeze some, hadn't really thought about it. But ultimately i won't buy any cheese for a while.

More chance securing a PS5 on launch day than a GivEnergy battery, currently there is a 5-6 month wait, and they have just discontinued those 8.4 kWh batteries.
Wow. I still found the instal interesting. Grid tie with AC battery inverter. As I’ve been thinking of installing my own system. Not necessarily that brand.

Singletons are certainly been hit hard or even anyone trying to avoid buying more than they need, its been getting even worse, and it angers me more as its wasted food when we have people going to food banks.

Asda online instead of been able to buy a single onion for 20p like those going in the store which incidentally has no packaging, I am forced to buy 3 for £1 in packaging and throw two away every week.
Cheese, their smallest Red Leicester online is 200g, their smart price option is 400g and more than the standard one because of the bulk, wasted food, wasted packaging. What if i just want 50-100g? In addition the resealable cheese packaging is scrapped, so if maybe try to keep it, I have to buy something to seal it with, probably more waste.
When low quantity is available the pricing compared to the bigger is often insanity, as someone who has worked in food manufacturing I know the cost to produce smaller units is nothing like that, its the supermarket playing games.
Then we have the half full yoghurt pots etc. because companies want to hide they have reduced food quantity.

None of this is been targeted as well as plastic use in warehouses etc. It just seems far easier to target consumers in PR friendly ways that dont hit profits. Like the bag removals, there is no proper thought process.
