I'm tucking in to some reheated donner meat and chips from lunch and, man, its even better!

Reheated with convection (220°) + micro (low) for 5 mins.

Thats my main go to, works for Sunday roasts to.. pretty much anything. Pizzas get the grill and micro for that extra crispy and melty topping.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use these functions on their microwave. They're great!

I do I don't actually own an oven just a combi microwave and a set of plug in hobs.

had it for about 7 years maybe big ass panasonic thing its pretty huge.
came with loads of cooking accessories. like 3 different circle grill racks, the pizza dish round black enamel thing, some weird splash guard that fits on top of that which prevents oil or whatever splashing about., 2 different slide in shelves so you can do 2 tier cooking at the same time.

heats in oven mode to 240c (fan assisted basically an actual oven element and fan full size like in a real oven)
has a full size grill element in the roof also.

it has moisture sensors for the auto programs so it can determine cooking times, it microwaves to get a moisture reading at the start of the programmes and you just hit a button for well down, normal or slightly undercooked.
various settings for the food types like potatoes has options for boiled, baked or roasted.

I pretty much only use it as a standard oven or microwave though.

I never really tried the combi settings

I think mine was around £140 at the time about as expensive as they went but since I planned to not buy an actual oven it seemed worth it and I don't have any regrets

it's basically an oven with a microwave rather than a microwave with an oven option.

ahh I actually posted about it on these forums when I bought it.

check this thread for pics wow bought in 2013 and still going strong.

@arknor that combi you have looks like a beast! 240°? Madness!

I've got a panny which goes to 220° max, serves me well but would be nice to go that little higher for crisping samosas and things.

I've had my Panasonic since I got my first house in 2012, still going strong although the internal light went (I just need to replace the bulb).

My dad had a combi Panasonic when I was growing up, lasted for as long as I remember and he decided to replace it with the same model as my one about the same time yet his original one still functioned, these things last!

@firstborn try this next time you're reheating a pizza slice:
Press <combination> (turns it into combi mode)
Press <grill> (turns grill on to medium)
Press <micro> x2 (turns microwave on to low)
Input time (3-4 mins or so depending on how much pizza)

it works great, definitely would recommend Panasonic for things like microwaves and bread makers.

I suspect the temps it hits might actually be 10c lower than claimed.
but it does heat up fast like setting 200c and hitting preheat it takes around 4-5minutes before it beeps to say its ready. (it does cheat a bit and blasts the oven element and grill at the same time to preheat)

google suggests a normal cooker takes around 15mins to hit 200c..

it wouldn't surprise me if combi ovens can be a lot more efficient that your regular oven at least the expensive ones because the oven element is oversized for the space

okay sure it seems expensive but it was bought almost 7 years ago (just a few more weeks till its birthday)

so spreading the cost over 2555 days that like £0.05 per day seems like super good value and no signs of it giving up any time soon

Every microwave we've owned has been a combi and never once used the grill or cooking options, quickstart on everything.

Since purchasing an airfryer, 5 years ago, the microwave is only used for things we can't air fry. You should try frozen samosas in one. Also use it to reheat pizzas but never had a enough of a kebab leftover to try :)

Have a large Panasonic that’s used most of the time, saves heating up the full size oven unless needed like for xmas

I have a combi microwave I think but again only ever use the microwave function.
Re pizza, I always used to reheat my friday night pizza for saturday lunch with a bit of extra cheese. Was always fine.
Then i tried reheating it im my airfryer expecting it to be a bit dry. Oh my. I like reheated food anyway (seems to enhance the flavor imo) but reheard airfyer pizza is a thing of beauty and deffo better than freshly cooked.

- this is an oven pizza btw not take away.
