I just bought 2x4Gb of G.Skill DDR3 ram since Starcraft 2 and a couple of other things were really stretching my 2x2Gb of Corsair to the limit, so I saw the daily deal and thought 'why not'? I would have added more of the 2Gb ram, but because of the size of my CPU heatsink it covers the first two slots so I couldn't have moved these ones over. However, the G.Skill stuff I recieved is actually tiny, small enough to fit under the heatsink with no problem.

So, is there anything to lose by sticking those two in there, and keeping the 2x2Gb in the other two slots, giving me 12gb of ram? I could then use 4Gb as a ram disk or something like that? Would it be worthwhile?

Thanks!

There's a cheaper 1600mhz set which you can just underclock to 1333mhz but seems like you've already bought the G.Skill :p: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-290-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

Got the G.Skill on 'today only' for £35 :p

But if its just that simple then I'll go for it. Though I'm also trying to get my previous overclock to work with this memory. The corsair I was somehow running at 1.665V which seems very high, I don't know why it was, though it does say 1.6V on the side of it, despire only having 1.5 written on the website there. What's the highest I can safely push the voltages on this ram to try and get it stable?
