Decided to have a crack at cooking dinner for the missus tonight, results below

Not sure she was impressed with the aperitif :p

starter - crabcakes with a tarragon butter sauce, prob was too conservative with this one

main - herb roasted potatoes, mixed wild mushrooms and sea bass wiith salsa verde

ready for last stage in oven

dessert - filo baked pears filled with almonds, chocolate and orange with double cream

Sounds really nice and looks good too, but to be perfectly honest, the four blobs on the edge of the plate don't look great - I'd personally lose them and put a medium sized blob at the bottom of the vertical bit of fish :) (imvho of course :))

had thought of that, the salsa verde is very strong though so left it seperate, wasn't happy with the presentation myself though
 
Looks quite nice!

I think dollops of stuff around the plate rim is a bit of a no-no however and the starter looks a bit... substantial (and this is coming from a pig!) :D

I quite fancy your pears however (ohh err missus)

it was , missus put one back in fridge, they aren't full soze plates btw :)

need to rethink what to do with the salsa verde
