Lots of posts being ruined by pointless arguing at the moment. If it keeps up I am sure one of the mods is gonna get upset (and we don't want that)!

So keep it constructive - no Nvidia sucks or ATI is going down etc just think before you post.

:D

Couldnt agree more. Lots of arguments going on these days, Just ruins it for us reading the forums and others e.g thread maker, mods etc

I agree. I hate useless, uninformative tripe being posted. Certain people are beyond me - I don't understand how they camp one side when they could well be doing their wallet harm. I stayed away for so long from this part of the forum for this very reason. Recently I got dragged back in but from now on, I don't think I can be bothered anymore.

Some healthy banter is one thing.Take me and you smids comparing our cards in 05 and discussing it.

Making comparisons and such is good for analysing and evaluating different cards on their performance.

But I agree,I think we are all guilty of it in some capacity but in general I don't care what people have in their systems or what they choose to spend their money on.

It just gets me when people defend certain stand points on company loyalty over facts. :)

Well...... if another person makes a biased remark about a graphics card or some company, the best thing to do is just ignore the author of that post and carefully inform the thread starter that the biased post should be dismissed.

Providing that the buyer is seeking recommendation for a card that is.

Sometimes a comment can be made by someone who knows no different, and it's the response to that post which actually causes the eruption, swearing and personal insults, then it turns into a gang war. This person begins to support this person and that person begins to support that person. If a post isn't pleasing to the eye, just ignore it. Don't need to condemn the author.

ATI vs nVidia arguments will always happen, this has been noticed by the mod team in the past and warnings have been given in the past.

Usually when one compnay releases a new card the bickering starts again, after a while that stops until the other company releases their card.

I guess people feel the need to justifyspending a lot of cash and the last thing they want to hear is that the other card is better at it.

this is the first time in a long time though that cards have been released close together & offer similar performance, differences are so small that I'm not sure how anyone could argue one over the other for gaming. There are differences when it comes to HTPC use etc but thats a small market.

got to come down to price this time round surely.

I agree with Dutch Guy, it'll calm down again in a couple of weeks when the furore over the latest cards subsides, then the atmosphere will return to a more friendly constructive one, it's difficult not to get drawn in sometimes though.....(breathes deeply).

Same here, im getting fed up now, sorry i had some rants yesterday, but with rubbish like that all the time over and over again, i just can't take no more, im thinking of just giving this section a miss too. :(

I'm surprised you guys really take it to heart, next thing people will be going to see councellers seeking advice on how to cope with having to read a forum on petty graphics card remarks - sorry to be sarcastic but its only a bunch of words infact its a bunch of pixels! if someone moans at me at work it goes in one ear hole & out the other, same goes for when I see stupid comments like I'll mention below.

Sorry if I sound mean or twisted but at the end of the day just give the people warnings, I for one dont mind reading justified reasons for why people buy one product or another but aye the "I hate Nvidia because there crap" nonsense does need to stop its pathetic.

Wait until Intel re-take the speed crown later this year!

The Intel/Amd crowd haven't had much to argue about over the last few years. All that pent up aggression

As more a lurker than a poster, gotta agree. Too many instances of where people genuinely want to know wether to get card x or y and brainwashed by irrelevancy or benchmarks taken out of context....

That is an argument I will be joining in on. Come on AMD :D

I don't mind some of the Nvidia vs ATi stuff as long as people back it up. People shouldn't start making it personal though. Been some posts where people seem to "gang up" on D.P. imo. But he does backup what he says, nothing wrong with a heated discussion however... ;)

Maybe if there was a sep forum for ATI and Nvidia Descussion it would stop some of this ...
Disadvantage with that is where to put threads that are about videocards and graphics in general.

You could make three forums, ATI, nVidia and General but there aren't enough threads to justify doing that.

That would make it very stale in here.

And also wouldn't solve the problem as 99.9% of fanboy ruined threads come from questions such as "would an nVidia or ATi card be best for this game", or "what's the best value for money out of these two ATi and nVidia cards"
