I haven't bought a new game since... erm... I think Quake4! Anywho, this looks different to what I usually play so just how good is it? Does it have the ability to play for hours on end and not get bored? Is it immersive?

Sell it to me! I keep looking at the screenies and it does look nice, I'm just dubious about the game-play.

Thanks all!!!

...and everybody else would ban you. Seriously though, the game is quite an accomplishment. As fas as make belief is concerned Oblivion contains a very reasonable story line /plot. There are many challenges and subquests to contend with as well....and if you do buy it you will most probably have to ration your time :)

I've still not played it much :o Played it for 30mins and got a bit bored so didn't keep going, but I suspect like most RPGs it needs a few hours to get really good.
Rationed myself to 2 games this month (this and Tomb Raider Legend) yet I still deprive it :o

Will this game make you stay in for so long people will think you must have died because they haven't seen you for so long because you never leave your PC is it that that good?

Put it this way, for the past week I've been promising myself an early night as I'm always tired. Every night I put Oblivion on around 9pm for a quick game. Every night I find myself going to bed at 3am when I finally drag myself off the 360, and that's only as I have work the next day. When I'm off for Easter, I'm fully expecting to pull an all-nighter at some point.

And Jen, if you don't play it more I'll ban you too! :p

Lol thanks I'm sold. :D I don't want to be banned. :p

It's just when I was a kid I remember games had me hooked for weeks and weeks and weeks. Back in the day when you had text games and had to type "go north" and "open door" and the game was like 8 floppy disks which was MASSIVE! :D Now it's kinda like finished in 10hrs! I've been looking for a game with a bit of free roam and an interesting plot!

Sounds good.

Hehe you won't finish Oblivion in 10 hours :) I'm two quests into the main story line and have racked up 24 hours of game-time! I'm just wandering around doing stuff. It's a great game mate, might get ya hooked ;)

I've been playing almost non stop for nearly two weeks, racked up 73 hours on my most recent save and 8 of those hours were today. Hours on end is understatement.

And I haven't even done that much of the main quest.

took time for me to get into this game because theres so much to do and be i kept starting new characters im now happy being a dark elf in the brotherhood moved up in rank quite quickly. Became a vampire and all is great still got main quest to start which is why i love these games (do what i want and when im good and ready)

It is a fantastic game, but its not quite the "epic" I was hoping for. Well worth the entry fee mind, so I suggest you get it, sharpish.

Pretty much sums it up for me, enjoying it , just seems to be lacking something.
