I haven't bought a new game since... erm... I think Quake4! Anywho, this looks different to what I usually play so just how good is it? Does it have the ability to play for hours on end and not get bored? Is it immersive?
Sell it to me! I keep looking at the screenies and it does look nice, I'm just dubious about the game-play.
Thanks all!!!
Davey_Pitch said:Yup, me. I love Kotor, and I love Oblivion, but you have to understand they're quite different in their approach to the genre, so liking one doesn't automatically mean you'll like the other. Kotor is a 3rd person RPG with pseudo-turn based combat based on stats, and fairly linear (yes there are numerous side quests, but the main storyline forces the story along), while Oblivion is a first pers RPG, with real-time collision based combat, and completely non-linear (you can play the game for 50 hours and not even touch the main storyline).
I do feel it's a game that needs to be played and experienced, just so you can find out whether you like it or not.
You'd better believe itdbappa said:only RPG game i have liked is KOTOR. Any KOTOR players like Oblivion?

Good manA random name said:The game and the genre didn't appeal to me at all when i'd seen posts about it, but i thought what the hell and got it. I can tell you now, i have no idea why i was thinking what i was, this game is quite simply amazing.

Really wanted it for the 360 rather then the pc but as I was unsure about it and the pc version being so much cheaper I went for that.
Played it for a few hours now and im just finding it dull to be honest. granted the graphics in some places are really nice but in others they are far from great, some of the charecters faces are appaling.
please dont flame me here as its just my opinion but if these type of games are not normally your bag then i would defo try before you buy.
make your own mind up and dont believe the hype

Yes, I am a wimp! **hangs head in shame and slinks out of door**
I loved KOTOR and love Morrowind so I hope to love Oblivion also later in the year.
