Not really - to buy and sell you need more than just salesmanship skill. That on its own is what you need to sell somebody elses stuff for them.

and the rest like wit, connections etc etc

so he fired himself to avoid getting taken to the cleaners? and surely the ex-wife is your mum. well, not surely infact probably not as i'm sure you'd have referred to her as 'mum'.

I think the problem here is finding enough people that lazy to make a living out of it.

Who is going to to pay someone £30 for a a simple job like that, when you can get a strimmer for less than £30 pounds and do it year after year yourself

middle class couples where they both work are paid good money and spend most of their time out of the house due to work or other soical activities and see garden work as the territory of the working class. If you can find yourself a decent area / estate with around 100 + houses there you can make a fair ammount if you can say get 10 steady punters per month

Obviously mileage varies and it wont work in or around sink estates.

This is us, although I would not class myself as middle class but we both work and I would rather spend time with my family than cutting some stupid grass, if the open's dad lived around here I would give him some jobs to do and I know a lot of people who also have work they need doing but do not have the time to do it.

It all boils down to the personality of the individual, the guy who cuts my grass is retired and just drives around the local area.on an old mobility scooter towing a petrol lawnmower and stroller knocking doors. He also does a good job (not half a job as I have had worm experience of people doing).
