Comeuppance

The guy is driving like a right ***** constantly, sticking to the arse of other cars and drifting etc. when they are about, carving up people on corners. Serves him right to be honest. Shame about the car but maybe it'll teach him a lesson.

Fine if the track where he was drifting was empty, but most of the time it wasn't.

Well he ruined everyone's day.

This.

Also, it might just be the video quality, but where's the marshals?

TBH some european track days allow this, not all have the nanny state setup we do in the UK.

Open track days for a race series allow this kind of driving, although I doubt that applies as she had a road car with no cage.

It looked like her front left tyre rolled off the rim and sent her wide.

Makes me laugh, can't drive like that on road without being called a tool (justified) now you are a tool for doing it on a track

It is European and obviously they do allow it, just the way I see that person's driving is controlled etc. (they know what they are doing and control it well) but their attitude towards other people on the track is quite poor in my opinion.

Showboating and ran out of skillz but when skillz were present looked quite handy. These jap cars, drive em selves mind.....oh.

Absolute tool. It may be a track but it's not a race. As long as you're not interfering with the other drivers then fine, do what you like. But driving 2" from there bumper and trying to intimidate them is just stupid.

Come uppance is a good title and they certainly got it. I hope they're okay but what a stupid thing to do.

oh noes someone was drifting and crashed lets flame them on the internet.

you think even the pro drifters never crash? or never crashed while learning the skill of drifting.

Looked like she was doing well until it all went wrong...

Going down the inside of the Elise was a bit unnecesary though... I can't profess to being a track god, but I was under the impression that overtaking was mainly done on the straights? Doing someone down the inside seems more like racing to me, and against the principle of trackdays?

Hopefully the debris was swept off the track and the others could carry on though...

Why on earth is that a 'comeuppance'?

How dare someone have fun in their car on a trackday!!?

what you really meant was "how dare someone drive like such a tool endangering everyone else and their cars"

you wouldnt be so impressed if he had pranged you

fantastic vid though... as old as the hills, a classic

Don't give me that cods wallop. I can't see anyone being 'endangered' at any point. I wouldn't be happy if they pranged me, but that's just a risk you take when you drive onto the track. If you can't deal with that then don't go on. Nobody else was involved anyway so why even bring it up?

As above the overtake on the elise was a bit late and forced the car offline mid corner. Not dangerous but laking etiquette. Apart from that they were putting no-one in danger. The following distance was fine as they obviously were very talented. I would bet on them being a racer of some sort, either track, rally or drift. Yes they binned it as they were on the limit and made a mistake.

Having said that you really shouldn't be at 10/10th's on a trackday no matter what your experience. A bit stupid but doesn't deserve the ripping being given.

no danger? the idiot ended up on his roof. all you need is one twist of fate and youve got another car off the track.... oh come to think about it,

an evo poleaxing a pug

and i recall him being universally slated for driving like a tool in that incident

That's slightly different as they lost it while trying to overtake another car. I would expect people to be doubly sure when passing another vehicle on a trackday.

However the first video showed them losing it while on their own.

PS. of course there is danger, it's a trackday. Genuine accidents do happen.

I don't see how it's a comeuppance tbh. It was on a track. You expect people to drive recklessly on a track. That's what tracks are for. You do things on tracks that you can't do on public roads. It's a crying shame that the car was trashed in the process.

I thought he was driving quite well until he ran out of talent....

Wasn't exactly the best way to get round more flamboyant/show off than taking nice lines (yes we know your 4wd) imo... which ended up costing him his nice car.

But track days are for fun regardless of your style tis a shame on the guy.

Why all the evo hate? :( ;)

That would be Mr Simon Norris, a very either-you-like-him-or-not sort of person.

Anyways i'm off to do some of the stuff in the first video (except the end bit)
