Comfortable Bucket Seats

Are there any I should look out for that are comfortable for daily driving too and the occasional 2hr journey, or is that not an option with buckets? :)

Or should I phrase that "What's the most comfortable bucket seat I can get for my budget?"

Budgeting £600 a seat at the moment.

Any recommendations or advice based on experience?

Thanks :)

Brides are tight. ive only ever sat in the zeta but it was very narrow.

the recaro pole position was perhaps the best fit for me [6 ft/80kg] in terms of hold and movement available in the driving position.

I also like the cobra drivers seat in Gibbos M3. not sure on what model it is but it holds around the shoulders noticeably better than any other bucket seat I have tried.

I use a Cobra Imola Pro in mine, daily driven, nicely comfortable, would recommend it. £600 would get you in a Recaro Profi SPG though, they are better still.

Sceptical, I sat in a Bride once and it was like being squashed in a vice, and I'm only small.

*snigger* ;) :D

Anyway, I kind of like the Kirkey seats with a custom moulded foam or bead insert. Great for one person, not so much if others are going to drive.

If just a standard seat - Cobra Monaco/Imola/Suzuka/Racer Pro - try them and pick the one that's most comfortable for you.

Reclining - Cobra, Recaro and Corbeau each have a variety of seats. Don't know much about them.

If you're going to be running it with harnesses then I really don't think I could ever bring myself to use a tilting seat, regardless of approval stickers on there. I'd much rather have the fixed back to take the downward forces in an impact.

Thanks for the suggestions all. Will be getting harnesses with them too.

Will give them all a try when I go shopping next month!

Brides are definitely out of my budget unfortunately :D

I'd prefer fixed rather than reclining.

They take your measurements and make the seat to fit you (size and padding), I've only heard good things about them. I'll be getting one in my track car next year.

You can even go to them in Leyland and sit in their various seats to find one perfect for your size/shape.

worth having a look at the mounting side of things, I had a nice set of sliding side mounts on my celica that sat the seat on the floor basically by dropping it between the rails, and I could still adjust for reach. should be plenty of choice given its an impreza though.

I did 10 hour plus journeys in mine with corbeau pro series and coilovers without a problem, most important thing is to make sure they are aligned and fitted properly, or your back will know about it after a few hours driving! I had a mounting bolt come loose and before I realised what the problem was it felt like someone had been kicking me in the back!

Thought I'd give this a mini-bump as it's the same subject.

I'm now looking at harnesses to go with the seats.
I haven't got a cage just yet, that'll likely by February next year...

So, I'm wondering - can 5-6 point harnesses be fitted without a cage/harness bar? Is there any modifying needed - or does it depend on the car?
