COMING SOON.................

So you need a big enough case and at least a 120MM rad mounting point with clearance for the rad/fan itself.

Chances of anyone running one with stock cooler? unlikely - Full block time! I bet someone frankenstein integrates the stock cooler into their custom loop with some tubing and clamps while waiting for some official FC Blocks :D

Couple of these:

Will do the same job as their cooler

Surely a proper aftermarket-style air cooler would be sufficient and cheaper than the AIO guff they have attached to it.

I'd rather it was cheaper, came with an air cooler and then people have the option of that and run the card at stock (or very small OCs) or if needed, chuck the air cooler away and fit a proper waterblock.

Have they had to watercool this because of the heat?

Yes and No.

The stock air cooler on the 290X series are not good enough for the stock card. 2 of them on the same PCB? No chance without decent after-market cooling.

Plenty of the non-reference design air coolers are fantastic, they would likely have done a far better job than this AIO solution.

Except it will cost you a fortune, not cool VRAM or VRMs and be largely pointless?

Better to just wait for the FC block.

Well yes, A full cover will be better,
I was meaning for use with integrating into a current loop, instead of cutting the hose and trying to attach to the old barbs you could most likely simply take their Waterblock of and put that on, and keep the rest the same.

Surprised they didn't give the radiator fan and/or the radiator some AMD/ATI branding or colours rather than just a sticker. Crying out for at least a red fan to match the cooler fan, maybe with switchable LEDs.

My stock cooled 290x ran hot(within the design temp). I was just wondering if two bolted together would be to much for any air cooling.

Any hints of UK pricing Gibbo? Obviously the $1500 + VAT gives us a rough idea, but are we likely to be surprised or are the £1100 estimates in the ballpark?

Would be tempted at >£1000 tbh but even at that, not sure if my 1kw psu would have been enough with an overclocked 4770k, 6 hard drives and my watercooling pump!

I might hold off until the next-gen of gpu's since my 2 7970's are rarely ever troubled @ 1080p 120hz.

Do want tho! :D

If its a decent psu it will. I've had my 1000W superflower psu up at 1100W and no problems on a heavily clocked 2700k (5.2ghz) and heavily clocked 290's (1280/1625) in crossfire. Typically power usage is much much lower though. Around 600-750W.
