Commandos 2 HD Remaster

Great game I had the whole series except the 1st person shooter (?).

Id put it alongside the Men of war series and spin offs for complexity. I lost months upon months to those games.

Still play it every now and again. Still playable as is, so remaster without additions is not an Insta buy for me. Hope they make it mod and played made map friendly to add replayability.

I was thinking about this game earlier too, got the original in my steam library but it wont work on windows 10. I'd buy this though, it was a great game.

Loved the first one, then remember getting Commandoes 2 for Christmas back in the day, never opened the box :(. Just got it off my shelf now and everything is untouched, the book the disks. want to play it now :)

Ah, I may have to try that, it's been many years since I tried playing it. I would imagine that I'd only be frustrated with it when I do play it given the low resolution though. Ergo, this remaster needs to happen!

I lent my Commando's series to a mate and I never got them back. Bought them on gog I think but we need more games like this.

The last one I played was a few Christmases again, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. Absolutely loved it.

Is Shadow Tactics as hard as Commandos is? (Unless I just really suck at Commandos).
Remember years ago cheating just to see what the last level looked like lol, its pretty massive...

I don't think any of them are hard, it's more a case of learning the tactics that go with these games. Once you've got base pieces sorted it's just rinse and repeat.

There's a couple of bits I found challenging in Shadow Tactics but I wouldn't say it was overly difficult :)

Yeah I always thought it was a bit of a misnomer that Commandos was a "hard" game. I never found it particularly difficult, there was always a relatively straightforward way out of a situation.

If memory serves, most of the time I used the commando to go around knifing people and the sniper to get all the easy long range kills. You'd then use the thief, the French floozy and the dog, etc. to do all the bespoke little bits to complete the missions. Favourite maps from memory were Colditz, the Guns of Navarone and the French submarine base. They were epic levels. A couple of the tougher ones were the one with the Japanese port and the back of the aircraft carrier and the last mission in Paris around the Eiffel Tower.

Sweet memories of that game though, it was excellent.

If memory serves me right it was a game that was easy to pickup and play but hard to master.
