Never had a cinema setup before or a HDTV so I've been looking around and I'm thinking of getting these two items:
TV: 50" Panasonic TH-50PZ700 Plasma Digital TV Full 1080p HD (probably the CAB version that comes with the cabinet).
AMP+Speakers: Panasonic SC-PT850EBK Tower Speaker Power Theatre
Together they come to the princley sum of ~£2,500.
Can I have a sanity check on my idea of the setup? Plug PS3, 360 Elite, etc. into HDMI inputs in TV then run an optical cable between the TV's optical out and the AMP's optical in to get 5.1 surround with 1080p picture. I'll also use a HDMI on the TV to connect the DVD player in the AMP. That would work, yeah?
Also looking for comments in general, it'll be used for gaming more than anything but the PS3 Blu-Ray and 1080p upscaling from the DVD in the AMP will be warmly welcomed.
