I've already got my spec, just need to replace the 6600 with the 9450 when it comes out. Oh, and save up a bit

Anyway, probably ~500mhz for the board, but I don't think those chips can get anywhere near that anyway. ~430mhz seems the norm for them.

meh my mail is being really stupid today! Do you no if that board supports raid and what the vdrop/vdroop is like?

Also is it worth spending the extra on: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R?

Nope it doesn't have RAID.
No idea about vdroop but i wouldn't think it's too bad with that chip. A quad-core would probably be a different proposition tho.
And yip I'd spend the extra tenner on the P35-DS3R.

but I havent played with any of the new gigabyte boards.. want the B-Grade Asus P5K-E but some arse brought the last one before I could get my mother to the computer with her card :mad:

Which board is it worth looking at for 500 FSB? I'm planning ahead and I'd like to see if I can get 4Ghz with the 9450

No boards have done 500mhz with the quad-core Penryns yet.

We'll have to wait for the retail Q9450 to hit the streets before we find out if they can reach 500mhz themselves.
