Hi all, not sure if there's been a thread already on this, but if not, opening a discussion about this new phone from Commodore due to release sometime later this year:

Price is putting me off getting one but I like the idea of a retro phone which is a kind of detox device.

Stuff like this is so niche. There's a lot of weird 50 +/-5 year-old men out there tho I guess with big wallets.

Such a strange choice - if it was £150-£200 I could understand the appeal a little more (though still not for me) but even reduced it's an insane price, especially since they haven't included VAT and whatever import costs you get lumbered with.

I can't stop thinking of the Simpson's episode where Homer's long-lost brother let him design a car.

I only use Facebook / Youtube on desktop but I do like using instant messengers across all platforms. I can see that WhatsApp is enabled on this phone. If Signal can also be used, then great. Commodore got the right idea with this, except like others said here, the price. Agreed that £200 should be the pricing point rather than £300. £200 means that carriers can also offer 1-year contracts again like in the late 90s to mid-00s. Not a sniff on Wikipedia though. They're really slow in documenting new phones, even the Samsung flagships.
