Communicae sounds like a silly Americanism.

"Communications" would be more appropriate in the context you give. Communiqué is singular and rather specific ("an official report or statement, such as a government press release or the report of a conference"). Besides, the example sentence you give implies plurality (which would be communiqués).

It's always better to stick to words you fully understand. Using correct, but perhaps less formal, words does not imply too much about your character. But, using "fancy sounding" words incorrectly makes you look like a poser and a little bit of a tit. Don't risk the latter.
