I've had this installed for a few months now but over the last couple of weeks it's asking me to update it every other day, it didn't do this at all for the first few months. But the most annoying thing is that it keeps crashing giving the error about accessing memory xxxx bla bla at xxxxx and it has to shut down, it does this roughly every hour. Any ideas what's wrong?

Do i need it at all in fact? I know a lot of people on here dont use a firewall at all, especially if they're using a router. Now i'm using a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router but I cant see any options for a firewall for it. Does it have one built in or something? Thanks for any advice.

(I'm using XP and Nod32 AV if that makes any difference)

I use it, as well as my routers firewall, and i dont get it having to shut down due to errors etc..., runs fine for me, have you tried re-installing it, or grabbing the latest version.

I think it is best to have a software firewall aswell as your routers, so you can control what you send out, as your routers firewall just blocks all incoming, but lets everything out. :)

It's been asking me to update every day and but never finishes downloading, but it's not crashed yet. Not using NOD32 though, i use AVG Free

Servers are probably getting hammered again, happened to me when i first tried upating it, was crawling for well over an hr, then getting so far then stopping, it did update eventually though. :)

If you go into Security > Miscellaneous, you can turn off the automatic checking for updates so it wont keep popping up all the time, then you can try again yourself when you want, and hopefully they ain getting hammered so it will update.
