Free application similar to CCleaner. Anyone used it/ have any opinions?

1st impression for me is it looks slick but navigating through the menus appears a little labourious. I havn't used any of the tools yet.

i have been testing this on my laptop seems rather good.

not sure if its better than cc cleaner though !

goes deeper in the reg than cc cleaner

And that's a good thing? One bug or error and you're screwed. Comodo seem to be doing their best to get their foot in the door in several areas of the software world... I don't really rate their products though.

I've just tried it. Found over 1000 entries more than CCleaner. It has a nice feature whereby it removes them, backs up the changes then asks you to reboot. Then once booted back in it asks where to finalise the changes or revert back. So far, it hasn't broken anything that I can see and Vista seems a bit snapier if I'm honest! :)

Their basic firewall is pretty good; I've used it for quite a while. However, to increase revenue they are now going down the bells and whistles and flashing lights route in order to appeal to the 'PC World brigade'.

So called reg cleaners are nothing more than a gimmick. That said, I well remember the buzz of removing "326 invalid entries" from my win98 machine 9 years ago. It soon dawned on me that there was so much to lose and so little to gain. Removing these entries will shave about 1kb from the registry size and most entries are MRU's anyway.

Well what the hell, i've just tried it so I could at least give a balanced opinion...

It found around 1850 errors, and a LOT of those look to be Vista .dll files and other entries that to be honest i'm not sure I feel comfortable deleting. I'm going to back up, delete, then report back...

Yeah that's what I thought. But I'm still here working nicely. :D
