comp boots to black screen, cant get into safe mode to fix it, help!

so creators update, black screen. apparently its an nvidia driver issue but i cant get into it to update them. cant get into safe mode via f8 and try=ied a recovery boot disk but in place os startup options it gives go dick about with the ufei settings. about to scream

how can i get into safe mode to update the drivers????

Just interrupt the normal boot process - press the power button to force turn it off while it's booting, pull the battery, do whatever. If you interrupt boot a couple of times it will boot to RE fine. It's not stupid - I go to Safe Mode less than 1% of the time I'm booting. Saving 5 seconds in a normal boot is absolutely worth a bit of extra pain on the rare occasion I need to go to safe mode.

Thought it was shift+f8, hold shift and spam f8 as soon as you power on.
