"Photos must be of a reasonable size."

I'd like to ask the judges for a "that's too big!" guideline so we have a maximum size, reasonable to me is 1000px wide or 750 tall, since there can only be a very few people still on less than 1024/768 res, but when judging photos I think that the bigger they can be - the better, since you'll get more detail.

So could the judges please think about how big is too big, so we can avoid unknowingly posting images that either p you off because their four times the width of your screen, or that you are squinting to see! :)

All opinions welcome.

I would appreciate specific guidance too.

But flexibility is also important. We don't want to limit people who want to make a wide panorama or a tall, skinny image or even an image that isn't rectangular.

I think reasonable speaks for itself. Obviously straight out the camera is way too big while similarly a 100x50 thumbnail is too small. Just post it the same size as you would when posting for comments on here.

Personally I use a 1920x1200 screen but I can't speak for the other judges.

Similarly, I use 1900x1200 for viewing. That said, I impose a max size of 1024x768 when posting images for others to see. 800x600 is a reasonable norm, as a lot of people do still browse at 1024x768.
