I'm just looking through the universities that offer this course and have basically narrowed my choice down to Loughbrough, Lancaster, Sheffield, Bath, York & Newcastle. Others I may consider include Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Huddersfield, Bangor & Aston.

I will go to some open days this summer but just wondering if anyone here has been to any of the universities above and studied some sort of engineering/computer course and could tell me what the university is like. If anyone has taken the Computer Systems Engineering course could you describe some of the content?

I'm 18 and going to university next year.

I've been to sheffield and visited the university, my grandfather also got a doctorate there in engineering.
I can't talk to you much about the course obviously because I haven't done it, but the university itself I do not like personally because it's a city university ie everything is spread out around the city itself. Which some people like, I don't.

However sheffield itself is wonderful, If I had ended up applying to sheffield to do computer science I would not have been disappointed.

All I can advise you is to go look yourself, they always have open days, as for the course a good place to look is thestudentroom.com and ask there.
