Hi, just a quick question.

I have just found out that someone is slandering my company with a link to my website over a faulty item. We suspect the item is out of warranty and we suspect has been abused, any idea if I can get them to remove the posts legally?

The crap they are spouting is not correct or accurate.

thanks

what is your website out of intrest

Well that might be a good thing as surely an admin would have more responsibility over what they post?

Just ignore and enjoy it, the advertising the obsessed freaks bring you and your site is the sort of traffic you can't buy.

If you were the retailer then the person may have a genuine claim against you under the SOGA regardless of whether you consider the warranty to have expired. This is dependent on the nature of goods supplied and what a reasonable person would expect their life to be.

Do you have anything substantial to back your suspicions of abuse?

any idea if its possible to block directs from his site? I'm using IIS, I think apache uses .htaccess to control this kind of thing

From an SEO point of view, if he's hyperlinked to you from a page ranked site its probably helping you overall more than hindering.
