Since Fibre is now being the norm how about a thread stating which routers work with Sky or BT, would save a lot of time searching.

Sky - Billion 8200N, Netgear WNDR3700v2, DrayTek Vigor 2830[to be confirmed Daytrek support says it does> MER], AirPort Extreme Base Station.

Some of those listed are combined router/VDSL-modems, whereas some are just a router with a WAN port that you plug the OpenReach VDSL modem into...

Cheers Westy, just got it installed today so a little green about router/VDSL-modems, just thought a thread about compatable router/VDSL-modems would save time for people searching.

lol like me.

Also there's a difference between a router being compatible for FTTC (ie it's got an Ethernet WAN port) and it having enough horsepower to handle a full 80/20 connection. I tested a few routers when I first got FTTC and even on 40/10 some would choke.

Built in VDSL modem + router:

DrayTek 2750 Series
DrayTek 2850 Series

VDSL router with WAN port to connect to Infinity modem:

DrayTek 2830 Series

Hi bertles86, l take it the DrayTek supports MER-MAC Encapsulated Routing (RFC 1483 MER)?

Might as well hook onto this thread, due to christmas there's a lot more wireless devices around the house now, and it seems to cause the home hub 3 to stop giving all the devices connected to it no internet connection after a long while it's been on, cabled connection still works however.

Any good "cheap" alternatives for around £40?
