i wanna upgrade my graphics card but i am gonna be getting a new motherboard soon so that im able to use better processors but i was just wondering how do i know if my graphics card is compatible with both i am getting the same socket processsors but whats the socket part for the graphics card? (as in processors are am2 am2+ etc)

I'm not totally sure what you're asking - but i think we need to know the make and model of the new motherboard your getting.

Basically, get one with a PCI-express slot - i imagine it would be hard to get one without.

Your present card is either an AGP or PCI-e - do a 'dxdiag' or look in 'device manager' it should tell you what type of card you have.

You will struggle to find a motherboard with anything other than PCI-Express slots, and pretty much every single graphics card on sale is PCI-Express.

There are a couple of different versions of PCI-E, but you shouldn't need to worry about this.
