Don't have massive knowledge on laptops but I'm upgrading my mum's laptop and it runs a Seagate HDD 2.5"

Recently bought a crucial p1 NVME m.2 SSD and wondering if there's an encasing or adapter that'll fit. And should have also be compatible, is there a way to check?

Laptop model : Lenovo ideapad 510-15isk

Appreciate any help :)

NVMe uses PCIe bus.
SATA uses SATA bus.

I don't know if an NVMe to SATA adapter exists, but even if it does, I don't think it'll be cheap.

If you really wanted to fit an M.2 drive in a 2.5" SATA SSD slot, you should've gone for a SATA M.2 SSD, because these types of adapters are just passing the same signal.

But I think the best option is just to simply buy a 2.5" SATA SSD for the laptop.

Maybe something like this:

Just make sure you double check the HDD/SSD height limitations for that laptop. I think it should be:
HDD: 2.5-inch, 7.0 mm or 9.5 mm, SATA II/SATA III
SSD: 2.5-inch, 5.0 mm, SATA III

If that is the case, then the Gigabyte 512GB SSD (height 7mm) I linked in this post can only fit in place of the HDD.
