Like aknor said, OP can just mention the winner at the same time as the number. But he will also be able to check the edit dates of any posts that seem suspect (i.e., any edited at/after 6pm today are obviously trying to pull one over).

I did think of that, but I could always edit mine with a "awww, I lost" comment and change the number at the same time.
