**COMPETITION** Plantronics RIG Universal Stereo Gaming Headset

So sorry for the delay in doing this but hadn't gamed much for the last week!

So to start off, this headset comes very well packed up and looks like a mean set of cans from the off. The instructions on setting them up are very simple and to be honest it took about 30 seconds as it was so easy and the images were well laid out.

First thing I did was try music. I have a set of Plantronics Gamecom Commanders which I have been using for a few months also. Music wise I feel the "Rig's" beat the gamecoms. The bass is very good on the Rig's and music sounded clearer. The 3 different settings between Pure, Intensify, Seismic really does help with this and is a good addition.

Onto gaming. These are very solid for gaming and work well with working out where enemies are and what direction they are coming from. The microphone is very crisp and clear and even though the mic is a little further from your mouth it picked my voice up nice and loudly. For gaming though I prefer my Gamecom's as they have noise cancelling on them which really helps in my living room.

Would I recommend these? Yes I would, I am actually on the fence here to which I prefer overall between the headsets I have as they are both very strong in separate areas. The fact I can use these headphones with my iphone and various other gadgets is a massive bonus for me.

I am no expert on high end gaming peripherals but these are retailing for £85 on overclockers and I don't think anybody would be disappointed with these at that price. The only downfall as I have said is a lack of noise cancelling but if you game in a quiet room it really is no issue.

I can't thank overclockers enough for these.

Holy necro Batman!

As this is nearly 2 years old now I'm wondering if the concept caught on, and if there are any other headsets that have console, PC and smartphone connectivity?
