a couple of weeks ago i bought a muller yoghurt from tesco's, got home, opened said yoghurt and found there was no filling in the yoghurt. just plain yoghurt and the cruncy bits.

well i wrote muller a nice email, they asked for my address and today i got £5 worth of vouchers.
not bad for a 38p yoghurt.

so whats the best "compensation" you have got.

I doubt any one will be able to beat you :( thats like a 1500% conpensation increase from original product .... no to claim on something worth £1000 :D

Out in the states a fire alarm accidentally went off a 7.30 am. Later i went to complain about it waking me up, and recieved free breakfast for myself and my better half, and a $25 voucher for the shops. :D

Ah I can beat that. I once got a packet of disco crisps with no flavouring on them. Gave the company the bell and they asked for my address, so thinking they were going to sign me up to a load of junk mail I gave my Brother's flats. (:p)

4 days down the line, what appears at his door but the whole range of disco crisps, in those cardboard boxes you get at the pub. By the time I got to the end of them I though my kidney's were going to implode! :D

ah i forgot about that one. me and the ex stayed in a travel inn while we were up at alton towers a few months back. well the firealarm went off at 4:30am and then at 10am. we complained and got £40 voucher. :D

I got a free phone and a free years contract to what was Cellnet after they cocked up my account. :)

I also got 150 quid back on my sofa because ikea messed up the delivery.

Boots gave me a £30 gift voucher because my first order with them arrived broken and I sent it back with a complaint. Never paid for it and they sent me a replacement along with the £30 as goodwill :D

I write and complain about everything that goes wrong and I've never yet gone ignored :) Sometimes it's just a letter back but usually it's an apology and a gift voucher or free points or something.

If you complain fairly, explain the situation and express disappointment you usually end up with something.

The best compensation I've had is 2 free return flights from Flybe. I used to fly Southampton -> Belfast with them every 2-3 weeks and as the customer service was shocking I wrote a complaint. They handled it quite well and gave me a voucher for a free return flight. When utilising that voucher I had a bit of trouble with the numpties at the check in desk which I complained about and got another free voucher :D

I think you did allright to get a fiver out of 38p. I personally wouldn't have bothered though :p

My Grandad got a years free supply of Golden Wonder products after he made a complaint back in the 80's. He bought a pot noodle which had lots of ground up glass in it. Had he know better he would have taken it to his solicitor but Golden Wonder sent a guy round who gave him a letter to sign if they gave him a years free supply of stuff.
I think there's a few boxes of Cheese & Onion in his attic from about 20 years ago

i was bored and thought why not.

i am now tempted to just randomly complain about products i dont use. this could turn in to a gold mine. :p

Always bother, my friend! Even if you don't want to write a letter, many supermarkets have fairly generous refund policies, our local Tesco has on a couple of occassions given us both a refund and replacement (ie. get something for free) if you bring back some packaging with a receipt and a complaint!

We sent a letter of complaint to the manufacturers of 'Broken Biscuits' after finding a full biscuit in the pack when I was at uni.

Sadly, we never heard back from them :(

I once complained that my ready brek didn't make me glow like the ad said

I got loads of free glow in the dark stickers :D

I was about 10 at the time :p

LOL :D

My dad complained to mcdonals many moons ago, and got £20 of free food. Big macs werer 82p back then..
You can imagine the look on the guys face when he ordered it

Well i'm currently in the middle of the first complaint of my life but its not really going smoothly atm, lol. The next step is to file a small claims court action in North Carolina :(

We went on a family holiday when I was 15 to Crete but two weeks before we were due to go they had to charge us over to Cyrus (which we weren't too bothered about really so long as the hotel etc was just as good). And it was just as good, 5* All Inclusive etc etc gorgeous.

Got there and it was fantastic but we noticed that the one in Crete you were given free windsurfing lessons, we weren't interested but complained anyway and got £50 each "to spend on lessons..." (pffft!).

My mum then won the bingo a couple of times £80 a pop.

We got back and my parents were refunded about 75% of the cost back due to how late they changed holidays.

So a pretty good holiday in all! :D

Also...

Last year my parents had their 25th Wedding Anniversary and had booked to go the Dom Rep at the same time. Had a fantastic holiday but on the last day my mum started to feel a bit dodgy. Turns out that she has a dodgy sandwich from the airport and had got saminella!

Complained like hell (not really the companies / hotels fault but shhh) and received a check for £1000 - nearly half of what they paid :o

We're pretty good with cheap holidays :p

I remember being in McDonalds with the family quite a few years ago, they mananged to screw up the order twice in a row. They ended up in giving us double our order and our money back :)

I ordered a domino's pizza and they messed the order up so I complained. The manager said my next order would be free, so next day I emailed head office to complain and ordered a massive pizza. They sent two massive pizzas for free and a voucher for a free pizza came through the post from head office a day or two later. I felt a bit guilty about emailing head office to be quite honest.
