Hello peeps.

I will be switching ISP's at the end of this month and to celebrate my faster speeds I thought that it's about time that I went wireless as the g/f keeps tripping up on my telephone extension cable that runs along the hall carpet. Now, I have not got a scoobiedoo what is good as what isn't as far as hardware is concerned, come to think of it I don't even know what I should be buying to start me off  :o

So if I said my budget was around the £80.00 mark, would someone please let me know of a complete kit that I could buy to get me up and running :D

Thanks in advance peeps

Al

The ISP doesn't make a (huge) difference, the fact it's ADSL does.
Netgear DG834G is a popular choice, though it reportedly has issues with wandering SNR margins with MaxDSL.

Is this something that is likely to cause me hassle in the future tolien? Although I have to admit, I have not got a clue what you're on about :D :o

Assuming it's Bulldog LLU, erm maybe.

When I was speaking to the bloke at Bulldog, he did mention that the reason I was being offered the connection speed that they could provide me with was for the fact that they have their own equipment in place instead of using BT's. So am I safe in assuming that this will have something to do with LLU and that this could have an effect on the equipment that I should buy

Thanks for the quick replies tolien ;)

So given that information tolien, is there anything that I should look out for when looking to make a purchase  And would a pci networking card be better than something that just plugs in to a usb slot  Sorry for the dumb questions tolien :o
