I have now for a few years felt i need some type of hobby, maybe a creative outlet. I just find myself bored a lot nowadays. I'm currently at uni studying computing and networking and i do love my course but it cant keep my attention 24/7. I feel the need to sometimes be creative, keep myself occupied with a hobby of such. I'd really like it to be pc based like say.. photo shop? or something along those lines but i always look up tutorials etc and just get a bit lost or find it being far to complicated. I am into computer games, of course. but they are just boring me at the moment, things like counter strike annoy me more than amusing me.

Maybe i just lack a serious hobby? im not really a sporty person either, in fact I'm quite unfit. I even considered trying maybe to learn to draw after doodling in a lecture the other day again looking over guides completely destroyed my enthusiasm again.

Basically i am saying help.. am i just being obscure? I am just feeling a bit jaded at the moment.

Anyways sorry for my rant / cry for help, whatever it is and its inherent bad structure and English. but i am asking has anyone got any particular suggestions?

You use this as a reason NOT to do get in to sports? I would see it the other way around i.e the fact that you're unfit is the main reason you should be getting in to sports more.

Apart from that, MMORPG's destroy spare time.

Learn an instrument?
Photography?
Painting?

instrument and painting hmm I'm not sure, like i said i cant draw so it cant help painting.

Photography I've actually always liked the sound of. I can sometimes just walk about etc and think "That would be a really nice picture...".

But then they make you do stuff like run away with your computer and live in a car outside Maccy D's... ;)

I'd suggest learning Flash over photoshop. It's so much more fun. :)

Photography, as posted before.

Gets you out of the four walls.

Photography sounds good but walking round the north east of England with a camera isn't the greatest of ideas. :D

You really should try photoshop!

All you need is an idea, and if you don't know how to do a particular effect or how to make your image do something, look it up and bookmark the best tutorial/method you have found.

There is nothing wrong with checking tutorials from time to time. Eventually you will learn how to create many simple effects simply by doing them often.

I think your biggest problem is laziness! Seems to me you want a hobby you can do NOW.

The Gym!

Its excellent for providing you with motivation, fitness, targets, fun and friends! :D

I go to the gym :D

I don't see the gym as a particularly social place
