Hi, all you OCUKers!
I've basically been having terrible difficulties in making my mind up on a nice little spec' that would get me through my troubles as a student and whatever else I get up to on my PC.
List of things I do:
- Internet/Messaging + Multi-tasking
- Light/Non-intensive gaming
- Image,Video editing/A bit of 3D design
- Audio editing/recording (Songs and the like)
- General documenty stuff
So my first impressions on my needs were:
- At least a mid end dual core? (Not too sure if I should go quad)
- At least 2GB of RAM
- At least 250GB of HDD space
- 3850Pro/9600GT perhaps?
- Around a 20" screen (Doesn't need to be bank breakingly brilliant)
- Onboard audio, or a Sound Blaster Audigy if it makes that much of a difference (Not a great priority)
- A motherboard with reasonable features (I like the look of Gigabyte's efficient boards, they look like they have nice features e.g. Back I/O)
- A simple, basic, reliable, good looking case
- One of the most efficient PSUs out there
What do you all think? I need opinions on this, so if you think I'm going off on the wrong foot, then do tell me, I'd gladly take any suggestions, I don't want to spend too much, really. I also want to keep in mind power consumption. Would something from AMD do or what?
Also, how good do OCUK's PC Builder services look to you all?
Thanks for readin'
