Hi everyone this is my first post on OC forums, I have ordered some parts and I would like some views as to whether I have chosen correctly.
This will be my first PC build. I want a PC for photo editing, internet etc. but not for gaming, but I do want it quite fast.
The parts I have ordered from OC are:
Asus P7H55-M-USB3 motherboard (usb3 and 6Gb SATA )
Intel i3-530 CPU
Corsair Dominator 2 X 2Gb DDR3 PC3 12800C9 1600
Western Digital 640Gb 6Gb sata3 hard drive
Antec 300 case.
Does this sound reasonable so far ?
What power supply and optical drive would be a good choice ?
I want to run windows 7 64bit operating system.
If in the future I want to try to overclock would this system respond OK?
Thanks for reading.

That looks pretty good. For overclocking though I would recommend another CPU cooler. However the stock one will be fine @ stock, as i3's do run fairly cool.

Optical drive; Just get a cheap read/write, unless you plan to watch blu-ray etc. Preferably sata as IDE drives just are fugly and make cable management a mess.

Power Supply: Are you planning to install a gfx card? Or just onboard gfx? A Corsair GS600 would be good, and futureproof if you ever want to upgrade in the future.

If your overclocking you will need a 3rd party cooler, if your not looking to break world records there’s no need to get the super expensive ones as Asksa and Cooler Master both do coolers at around the £25 mark which should be more then ample for decent overclock.

As for the PSU it depends on what video solution your going with, if your using Intel’s on-chip solution just get Corsair 400 watt PSU which is more then enough and you could even use this PSU with a mid range video card like an HD5670.

I would have said that even if you are not overclocking you will want a 3rd party cooler - having a larger cooler means you can use a bigger fan which means your computer will be a lot quieter - having a noisy gaming rig does not matter so much as the noise of gaming covers it up, but having a noisy workstation can drive you insane.

Thanks all for the very quick replies, I will start building in about 2 weeks time ( hoilday ) sure there will be many more questions and I will rely on you clever people out there.
Thanks
