component upgrade

hi

i am wanting to get a little upgrade with current spec, looking at going down am3+ route.

but still interested in opinions

basically just a new motherboard and CPU

my budget is £300 max

currently have

cpu- amd phenom2 x6 1090t
gpu - gigabyte windforce 280x
ram - 8GB - corsair xms3 1600mghz
motherboard - asus crosshair formula iv am3
cooler - thermaltake frio am3 ( asked couple weeks ago about this cooler with am3+ and should work without problems, so dont need a cpu cooler )

i will be picking up another 8gb of ram (same kind)

will do nicely if you dont need xfire/sli and want to overclock the cpu, or if not then go for the 8350

You can get an Intel cpu/board for your budget. Does your current cooler have support for Haswell 1150 ?

if i take the amd 8350 cpu with the board you say would i experience any throttle, bottleneck?

I would still go for Intel over Amd.

That Asus am3 board is a good board I'm.using that Board atm with.my fx 8 core cpu and I really like the board u can overclock with it aswell.

would you say that the thermaltake frio cooler will handle the 8350, or should i be looking at a new cooler?

If u want to overclock I would suggest a h80 water kit cause the amd fx cpu run hot when u overclock them, glad to help you.

Ok u can get more speed out of the cpu if I need it buy overclocking just make sure u have good cooling ok

U may need to flash the bios on the motherboard ready for that cpu, check on Asus website what version of the bios supports that cpu ok
