Component Wii

I've read of a few folk who had the nintendo one and the madcatz one and they said the nintendo one was much better, theres also a few other 3rd party oens popping up not sure how good they are but I cant see there being a huge difference.
 
I just picked up a Madcatz, will let you know later what the quality is like,

Havnt got the official to compare it against though,

Got to be better than the composite anyhow.
 
Component cables made a huge difference on my tv (1080i crt). TP looks much better, stunning at times, as do Moneky Ball and Wii Sports. Gone is the blur and the washed out 2d looking image - now it's vibrant, sharp and with more depth.
 
i shouldnt think there is any difference, and if so,, it would be negligable, after all a component cable is a cable, no matter who makes it,,

If only it were that simple. Quality & thickness of cable & its interconnects make a huge difference to its resistance and shielding prevents high frequency cross talk aswell as shielding from power source induced hum.

In video terms, all elements in the cable must provide a constant 75ohm resistance @ peak to peak voltage for each element of the component signal, variations in cable thickness / impedance, quality of the interconnects all cause reflections and loss of voltage which manifest as lack of sharpness on the image and possible ghosting of the image.

The longer the cable, the more accurate the manufacturing process needs to be to ensure this consistancy.

Obviously there are practical limits beyond which model x of TV will not be able to manifest, but it wouldn't surprise me if the madcatz cable was inferior to the Nintendo one. The XBOX360 cables arent as good as the offical ones. (IMO)

i wasnt really after the tech specs ,, but ta, anyway,, ive bought unofficial cables before,,, never been able to tell the diff,, we will have to see wont we, i have an official one on order two,, because i need two cables one for work and one for home,, so i should be able to give a good comparison soon:)
 
Well if I'd just said that component cables are not all made equal, the next logical response from someone, even if not you, whould be 'why?'

Bear in mind i'm not saying they are different in quality, just that the possiblility exists that they could be.
 
yeah i se what u are geting at:), these cables are made by REACT, and the seller assures they, have been tested and compared to others and are of top quality,, still he could just be saying that i guess?/, still we shall see
 
Well the madcatz cable seems fine, but without the official one to compare against i cant really offer much more than that.

Using 480p on a 37" WLT68 you can tell that the picture is sharper,

The only drawback is you tend to notice the lack off AA more as the image isnt blurred as much as with composite.

If i can get me hands on the official one , which isnt very likely yet, then i will see if its any better.
 
I reallllly need a component cable for my Wii.. as composit on my 42" plasma looks aweful. I know as my Gamecube was terrible until i got component @ 480p for it..

Can somone direct me to a place to get one online? (email in trust) i dont mind if its not an official nintendo lead although that would be even better :)
 
Cool my RGB scart cable has been despatched!

I'll try and get hold of a componant as well, I'm bound to upgrade Tvs soon
