hello,
noticed some of my data on my HDD is written in blue, which i googled and it said it has just been compressed. but when ever i create a new folder it also comes up in blue, so i'm guessing that too will all be compressed data?

so how do i decompress whats already on there and prevent future files/data being compressed?

cheers guys.

Right click on the drive itself and see if the "Compress this drive" box is ticked.

Be aware that if you untick it then the machine will set about uncompressing everything which could take a while and might leave you with no free disk space...

thank you very much for the response,

it was ticked and it's all sorted now. it's basically a brand new drive so luckily there isn't much on there, only took a few seconds to decompress.
god knows how i managed to tick the 'compress this drive' with out realizing lol.
