I'm giving my loop the overhaul during the Easter holiday and need to buy some extra barbs. I'm going from a HAF-X with a gpu only loop and H100 to a white Enthoo Primo with a RX360 in the top and EX240 in the bottom + raystorm block.

When I originally bought the OcUK 360 kit, it came with six half inch barbs and 7/16 hose. Because it was might first loop, and I wanted peace of mind, I used some Koolance clamps too.

I've noticed the kits now come with compression fittings as standard. Are these easy to tighten up by hand? Are they better? Do you need to get a spanner on them to tighten them up properly.

Cheers.

I prefer them as they are much more secure. I have used Bitspower ones and a few EK and never had an issue with leaking etc.

You can tighten them by hand, just be prepared to loose a little skin :D

I prefer compression fittings also, i think they have cleaner look. They can be a pain to tighten sometimes, i am using the Monsoon fittings which come with a little tool to help tighten them up.

Off topic, nice to see another person doing a build inside a white Enthoo Primo! Will you be doing a build log for it? If you want to check out mine, its in my sig!

End of March/early April is the ETA i last heard from Phanteks, not sure if this has changed. OcUK don't seem to know when they expect delivery, neither do any other companies that are taking pre orders.

I have mine pre ordered through OcUK though.

The thing about the Monsoon fittings is that they don't do angle fittings that are 16/11mm ID only 16/10mm.

If you don't need any angle fittings then these are the 16/11mm ones that you need Click Here

It doesn't really matter if they're 16/10 as they use g1/4 fittings.
You could use the 13/10 angled fitting with a 16/11 compression if you wanted.

Compression fittings are supplied these days because they are more idiot proof than barbs. They are no more secure than barbs which are properly attached (which it seems you were doing anyway). DO NOT try and use tools to tighten compression rings, they are for hand use only the best method is to rest a finger either side touching the compression with no pressure and turn it until your fingers start to slip. Compressions are basically barbs with a screw on hose clip, it's job is merely to trap the hose against the barb to stop it slipping off. Overnighting a compression will twist the tubing and even worse if it is overtightened then attempts to unscrew it can simply unscrew the fitting from the block instead.

Overall compressions cost more than barbs, are more fiddly to use and offer no more security than properly used barbs, but they do look nicer and are harder to get wrong.
