Hiya everyone, new here but was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books to help me study for the A+, you never know, might be able to take part in some of the more technical discussions one day! Reading as much as i can one the other OcUK forums, but a lot of it is going over my head at the mo  hoping to get up to speed as fast as possible and start fixing/clocking my computer more than i break it! Any help appreciated.

The best thing to do is read the technical forums and actually play around with your PC. The A+ is very easy after you'e built and configured a couple of PC's. :)

You won't be needing a book for the A+.

Seriously, anyone who can use DOS and can install windows without needing to resort to documentation would pass it with their eyes closed.

If you want one however, I have one that I was given a few years back. Pop me an email with your address and I'll send it to you.

a lot of people recommend this book A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Sixth Edition by Mike Meyers

I'm doing it at the moment, seemed a good place to start since I don't have any IT qualifications :). But so far it's pretty simple.

The aforementioned Mike Meyers book is the only one you'll need (if you need any) for the A+.

It really is a very easy exam - know your components, form factors, bus speeds and basic operating systems and you'll fly through it.
