I'm not saying cloning is wild but

Meh, I'm not gonna need it when I'm dead. Might aswell give some poor other shmuck a chance at a reasonable life.

Only one step away from white vans knowing from the ID cards who is what blood type ect and some rich sod saying go get Marf as his organs match mine....

Marf commits suicide [or was he pushed] and as he didnt have time to sign the 'opt out' form, organs away!!

Thats only one way of looking at it, but please, dont let me cloud your minds lol..

I can understand people saying there's no reason not to donate, but then I'm not so sure. I'm in the middle I guess. I'd donate in an instant for family and friends.

I have similar thoughts tbh, I also wouldn't like my body parts to go to alchoholics / smokers over people who had no control over their health.

How would he ensure that the organs got to him though?

Then you're obviously completely oblivious to the world that you live in, it's based on an expanding reality whereby plausibility or even implausibility can be made into fact.

It's that type of linear thinking that disables or halts evolutionary progression. There is no limit to possibility or impossibility, only your personal perception is limited. Take a look at the civilisation you are in, take a look at our progression as a species over the last 40 years.

Don't insult my intelligence by making me out to be some kind of fruit who mixes realities because I don't see life in a narrow, dusty and cluttered corridor. Take a look at the prefix of my paragraph, see how it says potentially? That means I don't consider it to be fact, but am open to the fact that I am not in control of eventuality of science and progression.

Furthermore, I'd appreciate it if you didn't show hostility toward my opinion unless you are going to back it with a counter-opinion that consists of more than "yo ***? dats crazeh! you crazeh!".

Christ calm down there fella!! Easily offended arent you? I'm not trying to make out you are some kind of fruit, and I dont "see life in a narrow, dusty and cluttered corridor"

I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, nor being hostile to your opinion, all I wanted was some evidence that this was even on the cards.

I could say that man would be able to fly unaided by machines one day using just the power of our minds, but without some proof its just wild baseless speculation.

Is it really that unreasonable to ask for some evidence; other than "technology is advancing, of course it will be possible"; that the things that you suggest may one day be possible?

Can you imagine all these car accident cases where people died either just before they get to hospital or just after. Since they need to harvest quickly, they will have to operate straight away, so there will be a organ harvest team at every hospital standby 24/7. And if you love one dies, between the time you get the phone call and get there, he/she, wife, husband, mum, dad will be gutted like a Cow on a BBQ. Can you imagine how traumatic that would be?

I am all for everyone donating organs when they die, but it should be a choice to donate, not a choice to opt out. I am not against the idea of the compulsary donation per-say, as grave yards are for the living, not the dead. The dead won't need the organs anymore but we don't know how our love ones are going to react to it should this becomes compulsary.

If this was going to be law (which it isnt) there would be an opt out, as opposed to the current opt in system.

This is becuase the majority of people would want their organs to continue someone elses life after they are gone but never actually get round to signing up for it.

My personal opionions is what better gift I could give to someone, my life is over but that doesnt mean someone elses should be.

I don't mind citing my sources; I just think there are ways to go about asking for something. I didn't see the need for you to bash my opinion as wild/fictional without any real justification or effort to look into it yourself. You talked about providing backing to a statement before making it, and then in the same breath make a presumptuous statement about the validity of a claim without looking into it yourself. Just seems a little off.

I wasn't offended personally, I just felt on the defence from the moment you addressed me. Sorry if I came off too defensive, I am :o
