Hey guys, computers really annoying me at the moment.

My computers supposed to run at

Processor: 3.4Ghz @ 1.4v
RAM 1600mhz @ 1.8v

when i set it to these settings i just get crashes and bluescreens...

Any ideas? Its really annoying me :/.

What is the recommended voltage for the ram, this will be printed on the side of each module.

Also download and run mem test to check for a faulty memory module.

1.8v is right, (without sounding arrogant) dont you think i checked?

Ive mem tested the RAM its fine.

Im pretty sure that ram is meant to be between 1.5v and 1.65v. I know the triple channel dominator ram could go as high as 1.7v. 1.8v is way to high.

Try bring it down to 1.55v. And bring down the CPU to 1.35

Sometimes we have to ask what seem obvious questions, it's not meant as an insult. We just need more info to help. You've given us very little to work on.

It could well be the memory timings are the problem. Although i'm half expecting you to tell me you've checked what they should be at 1333Mhz and 1600Mhz.

What mobo are you using for the system. To make it clear you are trying to set it manually to stock settings (what's wrong with auto?) and not overclocking?

mobo is crosshair 3 - 1333 is stock so 1600 is oc on the board.

yeh timings are 9-9-924 @ 1600 :/. Not sure whats wrong.

I can get a photo if you want but its deffo 1.8v unless they used wrong stickers or something.

EDIT: oops forgot to say, yeh im trying to manually set stock as mobo is 1333 or 1066 on auto i think.

Hmmm well my Ram is from kingston and i bought the C7 over the C9 (was basically the same price). However I can't for love nor money manually set it to run at C7, auto sets it to C9 and then it works fine.

I have an asus 880 mobo but I imagine your bios options should be similar to mine. I manually set my RAM as 1600 in the bios but left the rest to auto. See if your bios will let you do that, it appears you are manually setting the SPD and Voltage.

Hope it helps

CPU stable at 1.35 now, but i still cant get my RAM to run at the stock settings :S. 1.8 isnt too high (a lot of people are telling me that it is deffo not 1.8) Im gunna get a picture lol...
