Hi I dunno if anyone can help me but I got a problem I've built a new pc intel i3 3.10Ghz. My graphics card is 8800GTS PCI-E graphics card when ever I put the graphics card in the PCI-E x16 3.0 slot I keep getting blue screening on windows 8 the graphics card will only work in the PCI-E x4 slot does anyone know what to do? Please help

Thanks

i have all the latest drivers i downloaded the latest drivers from the gigabyte website and from the nvidia website and all upto date i just cant seem to run the 8800GTS graphics in the PCI-E x16 3.0 and the onboard graphics card is off i dunno watta do im thinking of buying a new graphics card with 3.0 support what do you think?

Could just be the age of the GPU making it not stable on X16...

Try taping the pins for X16 to put it in X8 mode, then slot it into the PCIe 3.0 slot.

Tape like shown here http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2004/11/22/sli_is_coming/pcie-x4.jpg

Use this diagram to tape X16 pins

3.0 does not matter, as its backwards compatible with 2.0. 2.0 has not been fully utilized yet. A 2.0 GPU will be fine.
