Decided im going clean my computer properly soon, i usually blow the dust out with a can of compressed air but whats the best way to get all the dirt off the fans? Unscrew them and wipe it with a wet cloth?

I let henry suck the crud off my fans... he loves it :) lol

And then i let henry suck.................... the filters as welll.

Tbh i always find compressed air and dust cloth the best way. i always remove all my kit inside the case dsut them down with a cloth (except the motherboard/cpu/ram area i use the compressed air on that) us the cloth on the inside/outside of the case/fans and then put it all back together.

Process takes about 30 mins ish and then i get henry out to suck up all the dust left lying around and then i go for a walk in the park buy a icecream and forget about the troubles in life!

I need to get me a Henry ^^

But as for compressed air, is there a more long term solution like air pump or something?
Air cans can be expensive

I normally just use a selection of paint brushes, dust everything down then use the hoover to clean everything off the floor of the case. Though on occassions, ive used the bathroom shower on power setting to clean my cpu cooler, pop it in the airing cupboard overnight to dry.

This suggestion is the method i've used for years and is very effective and safe. A few brushes, varying in stiffness, is perfect for 90% of jobs coupled with some compressed air.

Really clocgged heatsinks are trickeier and I too blast them with a power shower head - hotter the water the better - but make sure they're completely dry before reseating, Setter's suggetsion of the airing cupboard for 24hrs is the best one.
