Hey guys,

I bought a new Sapphire HD7850 GPU, since my old GPU died. I also changed the CPU and the RAM from my second computer to get a better gaming PC.

Now everytime that I play the game, my PC crashes, the screen goes black and all I hear on my headphone is this weird repeating sounds (hard to describe). The computer crashes at random times, sometimes I could be playing fine for two hours or only for 10 minutes when the crash happens. I haven't got a blue screen of death or anything, just a blank screen.

In order to try and solve the problem, I reinstalled Windows 7, new drivers, updated the bios, and I am still getting the same problem. Temps are normal, nothing is overheating, my GPU gets to 60c under load when playing BF3. I also underclocked both the GPU and CPU too see if this would solve the problem but I got the same results. I checked all the voltages from my CPU and GPU and they seem normal as they should be. I even overvolted the CPU and RAM but no improvement. I even ran Prime95 for three hours and the PC did not crash, so i think this may have to do something with GPU.

Also watching YouTube video in full screen, occasionally the screen will go blank or sometimes white. This does not happen if watching Youtube videos and not having full screen on. When that happens, only thing to do is to press the restart button. But when I do that, the PC gives me two pings from the speaker and the PC does not start. Only way to start it again is so press the power button to turn off the pc and then on again.

Surfing the net and all the other stuff that I do, I never have a problem, PC is 100% stable when doing those tasks.

I honestly don't know what the problem is. My GPU is runing at 1.138 volts when playing games and I even underclocked it from 920/1250 to 800/1100 and still get the same problem.

WTF is wrong with this computer

Sounds like RAM use but you never know, process of elimination is the key to solve PC problems. Start by testing your RAM. Also check your Event Viewer and look for errors there by the specific time stamp.

If it's a battlefield series game your are experiencing this on, and you are using on-board sound Realtek. I would suggest disabling it and try without for a while or do what i have done got a USB solution a DAC or sound card. This cured all my crashing in BFBC2 seems there was an issue with using the on-board sound. it used to hard crash my machine with the same symptoms as you describe.

Reading back though if you are getting the via playing YouTube as well it may be ram related, but please try the sound card disable or google it, if only bf series.

Thanks for the replies. Its not just BF series, I get the same problems with pretty much every game that I play. Will change RAM and see if that improves the situation.

Uninstalled the realtek drivers but still having the same problem.

At times like this, it hits you how much better console gaming is. You almost never get **** like this with them.

God knows what the fcking problem is.

Agreed, it's certainly more convenient but isn't necessarily better..

Well it is better, because you can actually play games on it. How many times have we PC gamers had to put up with constant ****. Bad ports, games that crash all the times, I can't even believe we put up with all this crap. I mean PC gaming is so great, that I still can't play GTA 4 at solid 60fps. I am runing 1090t and 8GB of ram and have an hd7850 yet can't average 60fps....

Been trying to figure for over a month now, what's wrong with it. I have changed the CPU, the RAM, reinstalled everything, updated the bios and still can't find a fix.

Can't remember the last time I had to do that on a console.

welcome to pc building it comes with problems although i understand the pain dark souls had to spend 22 quid for c controller as the pc controls are **** ontop of the 20 for the game then go and get a graphics fix so i could play it in a screen res above 1280 by 768

to the op,list your components

be sure to update to the latest mb bios
and try adjusting the power control slider in amd ccc,set it to 20%,usually it cures gpu stability problems

For the 3rd time, I have already updated the bios. It is running the latest bios version on this planet.

Can't open AMD CCC. Another great thing about PC's, **** dosen't work and we never know how or why. I have already reinstall it 3 times but every time it doesn't load up.

I have adjusted the power control slider in afterburner but it makes no difference.

I don't get any error message. I click on it I get a little circle next to the mouse point indicating that it is loading but nothing open up.

I will try and install framework4 later and see if that makes it work.
