hi guys im building a computer desk, because its going to be only 600mm x 1100mm but the motherboard tray will only be 300mm depth.

so what im planning to do is raise the motherboard and fit two 120 fans as an exhaust under the motherboard, now would that be a problem, i cant see it being a problem but i thought i would check.

build log to follow

i will have 4 120mm fans as intake at the front and the i would have a raised motherboard the 2 120mm fans as exhaust

fan8ch.jpg

the problem is its going in a alcove so its difficult to do the exhaust, i was think vents in the desk top but things might get put on them

i like the input thats why im asking, it gives me something to think about, and im 6ft 2" but i will rework my calculations again

now for my hardware

Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

corsair h100

Corsair Dominator PLATINUM 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz

Samsung 256GB SSD 840 PRO SATA 6Gb/s

Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache (WD20EARX) HDD

corsair ax580

BitFenix Spectre PRO 120mm Fan Blue or white LED - Black x5 OR

CF-V12HP Cougar Fan with Hydro-Dynamic Bearing,MTBF300,000hrs and Auto Sensor Control x 5

NZXT CB-LED10-BU 12x Blue LED Sleeve - 1m

i still cant decide wot fans and the setup,as my cpu is cooled by my h100, i was thinking about 4x 120 fans as intake and maybe 1 or 2 120 fans as exhaust.

so my question is would 1x 120mm fan be enough as an exhaust

well her goes i have started with the base and working up, as its going in a alcove it has to be small, but i wanted to do something different

so i started with the frame work

just been cleaning up the edges for my fan mounts and dvd rom surround its starting to really take shape now

here's the 1st attempt at fitting the surround but it needed a lot more sanding

and started to fit the fronts, but i have decided it i will put slots in it for the fans or have 240 fan grills on the front

hopefully i have got it right but only time will tell lol

and only part of the desk will be glass so it will like a window

i have been trying to mount the psu but the way i want it is a pain so back on it tomorrow

thanks for reading my post hope your enjoying it and keep the comments going

thanks dt15 sorry its been awhile, but the weather is killing me its to hot then again i still have been busy. i had to make a cutout for the motherboard because the desk is quite small,i have been having a few problems as in the layout of the hardware so i have been playing with a few ideas.

i have decided to go with my original plan

16k2fxd.jpg

but as the io panel is on the left of the desk and not the rear due to space, i have been trying to workout the best way of covering my cables and this is what i have come up with

11joujc.jpg

now this is the back of the io panel so i can get access from underneath
