Computer Desks. What do you use

Ikea desk

I'm waiting for one of those chaps who have made those amazing custom desks in the build log forum to come along and put us all to shame.

I use a pine writing desk. 8 draws and a good size surface, it has lasted me 14 years so far.

I've always wanted a kind of 'workbench' type thing going along a whole side of a room. one day :(

For now, always: IKEA.

I bought the Linnmon table top with the Adils legs from Ikea for my new desk. As I only live 5mins walk away from the place, I walked back home with them in my arms. I got funny looks, but I didn't care. Saved me £25 delivery that's for sure! :D

Lol at thinking a HAF 922 is "big-ass", its a piddley little thing. :p I jest, it is quite large, but you need to see a 900D or a big Temjin or something. ;)

I use a small writing desk which is about 4ft wide and 1.8ft deep, I have it set away from the wall slightly with a 600T and two 24" 1200P panels on it (one portrait) and a third on the windowsill (:p) I don't have much room for the mouse next to the keyboard so I use a high DPI.

Will hopefully be upgrading to an Ikea Galant with an extension soon though. Want to squeeze all 5 Ultrasharps and both PC's onto it if I can :D

Are the ADILS legs alright? They want an extra £25 for the GODVIN legs, but I'm battling to understand what makes them so much more expensive.

Yeah, they are perfectly fine for me. Screw into the table top no bother. They can be adjusted at the bottom to be higher or make it even on an uneven floor. The ADILS are nice and sturdy.

I've got a very old school desk with drawers each side, its big, heavy and solid.

like this one....http://www.antiques-atlas.com/antique/1940s_golden_oak_desk_with_green_leather/as119a1511

got it from a old bloke from gumtree for £20 and he even delivered it as well :)

going to tart it up a bit later on,not sure what to do with it yet to make it look modern.
I have a desk like this but dual monitors is crap because you can't move between the screens, so I'm looking for a new desk.

Ikea looks to be the best bet.

No idea, sorry! It was free from my sister when she wasn't using it anymore from her place.

Thanks guys :)

I managed to get a 120cm x 80cm Galant with A-legs from IKEA today. The worktop had £20 knocked off which made me happy.

The sales guy said that the Galant hasn't been discontinued, but they're changing suppliers and it'll be back in store in approximately 4 weeks time.
