Computer Desks

I went with what was in Raikiri's post above.

No need to fix it down really, the alex units come with some rubber "feet" that you stick on the top that stops the worktop moving around really well. I suppose you could screw it through the top of the Alex units but its more than good enough with those little feet.

Just built mine up a couple of days ago, excuse the mess...

Wow poontang phone pic!

I need to go for an L-shape set up so I can have 2 pc's in this room. Am thinking 2x Alex drawers so each has a set of drawers on the ends. Where the tops meet just using legs on each worktop.

I'm using Ikea Galant desks, I have a couple added together here plus other sections.

I searched the bay for second hand, Collect the items you need then make desks up in the shapes you want. Desks have little value once they become second hand and people are always moving, or offices being closed down!

I'm loving the idea of the Alex units and a worktop.
Would the worktops be strong enough to hold a dual monitor stand?
As my stand (the one you clip to your desk) went through the desk.
For a 2.4 meter wide desk, would three Alex units be enough?

Mine is a 2000 x 600mm Linmon table top with the 2 Alex units. I rested the tower on the table top whilst I took a breather and everything was fine, the tower weighs 38kg... If you're worried just buy a leg from IKEA in the same section as the Alex and Linmon (they're all designed to work together ;))
