Hi guys,

I'm having trouble getting my computer to boot when a Sata powered device is connected.

I can get my computer to boot to the bios without any sata device e.g. Hard drives and DVD drives, but when I connect any of them to the psu the computer will no longer boot and the hd just beeps once.

Does this sound like a failed psu? I don't think it's the drives as I've tested with many known working drives.

Thanks,
Cedar

I'm using a corsair M4 SSD - I've checked and I am set to use ACHI.

The strange thing is I can't even get to the bios screen with drives I have validated in other machines.

If a drive is plugged into the psu and I start the machine it wont boot regardless of whether its plugged into the mother board but when i unplug the drive from the psu I'm then able to get to the bios.

clear the cmos from the jumper on the mobo and take out the battery, leave it 10 mins then stick it back in... this will clear the bios to default settings
