Computer not always booting up - Gigabyte UD5

I built my computer roughly 9months ago and the past month I have been having problems starting my machine up. It has gotten worse lately and waiting for gigabyte support is a joke to say the least.

Anyway the problem is when I start my machine the motherboard status code will say a combination of B and 8 as I cannot tell the difference between them. This will just sit like this until I turn my machine off and try again. It takes a random amount of restarts to get my machine to boot. Most of the time its 2 or 3 reboots but a few days ago it took me roughly 5 hours of constant reboots to get it to start up.

I have noticed a little trick I can do to increase my chances though, if I leave it turned on for a good 15-20 minutes so it heats up a bit it normally boots up on the next restart.

Any help or ideas would be great. So far I have reset my CMOS, checked RAM timings/voltage, taken off my over clock, unplugged my x-fi and used my old 8800GTS in case it was a graphics issue.

cheers.

Sounds like the common issue of the crappy initial bios releases they had with new boards. Had a similar issue on my extreme version.

A new bios release sorted me out so give it a try.

Good luck, bios ver 9m should solve this "Cold boot" problem. If not then it could be something to do with the bio settings itself (that's if you've been tampering with it). Otherwise it could be a dodgy PSU.
