yesterday i was having problems where by my pc wasn't shutting down.

adding that with the problems of my bios i was getting quite annoyed but i solved the problem and thought i'd post what i found/did incase anyone else has had similar problems when shutting the pc down.

basically i went into:
Start:
Control Panel:
Power Options:
Edit Plan Settings:

then i clicked on Change advance power settings.

withing here there is an option of the harddrive and when to turn it off.
this was set to 20mins so i turned it back to 0 and my computer shut down first time!!!!!!

has anyone else had this or can shed any light as to why it happend

Good old bug probably. Surely that setting should not effect the shut down of a PC?

well thats what i thought cos when i press "restore plan defaults" it goes back to 20mins!!!

but for me, setting it to zero turns my comp off when before it didn't. Why it has suddenly started to do it now
