Hi there,

So, the other day out of the blue my computer started playing up. I thought it was the CPU fan, so I replaced that and it worked for a day, then come today to start it up again I'm getting the same issue as the other day. On further inspection I can see that upon startup the CPU fan and the GPU fan do not turn on, but the case fans (connected to PSU by molex) and the PSU fan all do turn on leading me to think it's something to do with the motherboard.

Could a dead motherboard battery cause this? I noticed the computer clock kept getting out of sync the past few months, otherwise what could be causing this?

The motherboard is an Asrock Z77 Extreme4. I bought it from overclockers in April 2012, if it turns out it is the motherboard, is it still under warranty? What is the warranty length of said board?

Thanks for any help/suggestions,

Killgroup.

Haven't done anything to computer at all, except left it alone for ~5mins, and it turned back on first time without a fuss, CPU and GPU fans and all. I really don't know what is going on....I think I'll try replacing the battery.

It'll most probably be under warranty, I believe most boards have a 3/5 year warranty? Check the PSU definitely, maybe try a spare PSU you have if you have one

Another issue, not sure if it's related to the original one. But now when attempting to sleep the computer Dr Debug reports back a 0x03 error, which means "North Bridge intialization before microcode loading". What exactly does this mean and how do I correct it?
