Basically, I just installed a new 5770 GFX Card and installed the drivers from the cd and which I restarted. After this, I cannot log into windows it sends me onto a launch startup repair.

Although, after the startup repair has completed it says cannot repair this computer automatically and begins to send through the option.

It says: "If you have recently attached a device to this computer, such as a camera or portable music player. remove it and restart your computer. If you continue to see this message. contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance"

I have no devices attached? :S

Once the computer restarts it boots up onto a blank screen with nothing displayed. After this, all I can do is restart and then the same method repeats itself.

What do I do? What is the problem?

had a similar issue with a 5750 - had to boot in safe mode and use the updated drivers downloaded from the net - the ones on the cd dont work=black screen!

Once I installed new CCC and drivers and rebooted - no problem!

It keeps sending me to Startup Repair and when I send information about this problem it says windows cannot repair this problem automatically and restarts the computer over again.

How do I run safe mode?

I installed the ones from the cd and I now have a black screen!

Have I messed up?

Make sure you have the power connector connected to the graphics card.
Failing that, enter safe mode, download the latest ATI drivers and install them.

To get into Safe Mode - it's usually pressing F8 on boot up :p

Common mistake, that issue with 5k series is very common.
Even ATI said to Download the drivers off the internet, not the cd.
Thats the cases for most hardware these days anyways.

^do his away, and delete your drivers.
Or do a system restore to the point before you installed the drivers then get them off the internet.

ye the mobo you are using does that as F8 is also used for the boot options :D

select the drive with your OS on it and press enter then keep tapping F8 immediately after that

Bloody Hell, Ok Third attempt let me try.

Which drivers do I need to install? (which you recommend for 5 Series)

Ok,

Just installed the 10.2 drivers however, when I try to open up the Catalyst Control Center it says:

"cannot be started because the currently active GPU is not supported"

WTF?

"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager"

Also, the max resolution I can have on my 22" is 1400x1050 instead of 1680.

What is the problem now? I swear ATI cards are so problematic.
